My '96 SE 5-spd. seems to lag in the low-rpm range occassionally. Under all kinds of throttle application, it seems to hesitate temporarily, then continue to pull. I've tried to narrow it down to exactly when and where... but mostly when the engine is cold, before it reaches normal operating temperature, and happens right around 2100 rpm, then around 3000 rpm. Again, not all the time, or at both of those engine speeds. It's very inconsistent. What is goin on here? Knock sensor???

check the ecu for codes. knock sensor maybe

 

Time for a tune up? Fuel filter might be a bit clogged too.
