AC Settings, are they adjustable? (General AC probs)

Well, my AC has been doggin' so far this summer. I have been quoted at $200 for a recharge, but my coolant levels and pressure are good. The air is coming out at about 55F, so something is wrong. Now, i dont really see an alternative to letting the shop have their way with it, but i just thought of another slim possibility.

I just modded my automatic AC to have blue LEDs behind it. Well, i am wondering if there is something i could have bumped that could have changed the AC settings. Maybe it is nothing more than just a setting, or a bad auto AC controller?

Anyone else have issues with their AC, what did you do to fix them?

You can boost your A/C system yourself. Go to K-Mart and get a car of Maxi A/C boost. It has 3 oz of R134a some teflon for the compressor and condition for the seals. It takes about 3 minutes to put it in via the quick coupling on the low side. I just boosted my buddies I30 with this and he's got ICE COLD air now.

i have heard that with 134, if you put too much in, it can get outright hot. i am very skiddish about doing that. but still curious, how much is it? where do you fill the AC?

It was 6 bucks. If your system is starting to get weak it hasn't produced it's own R134, it's lost some. The Maxi boost is only 3oz. Your system holds approx 9oz. The connection is right by the passenger side strut tower, it's the low side of the system, it's got a cap on it with an L on it. This is all explained on the recharge kit.
