cat back exhaust upgrade

I am looking to upgrade the exhaust (cat back)on my 95 maxima se. I am looking to increase performance and obtain a nice "mellow" tone as well. Any recommendations for the do it yourselfer? Thanks!

I too am curious about the same (nothing now, prob later on), yet I don't want the sound too loud... I'd like to keep the noise levels at stock but if I do get a chance to pass someone I want them to know I mean business... any recommendations?

Greddy SP...thats what I have, its not loud at all when cruising, but when you get on it it sounds really good...not too loud though. I also have an Injen racing division CAI, cattman y-pipe, and a high flow cat, and my exhaust is really not that loud.

For those looking for a deep yet aggressive sound you may want to look at the Apexi WS. Made to fit for us 95-96 models, I am sure shops can extend it a little further for the 97+ unless you prefer the "Tucked In" look, and some do, more of a "Sleeper" look if you will.

The Greddy SP is supposed to be one of the louder Maxima exhausts. Many people feel the Apexi WS is just right. I have a 2.5" custom catback with no cat, no resonator and a 2k2 muffler. It sounds a little raspy at times, but overall not too much louder than stock and it feels a little more powerful at the top-end.
