Air filter HELP!!

Can some tell me if the sensor that is on the right side if the air filter box is needed. I bought K&N air filter and I want to install it, but to do that I need to take out the stock air filter and the housing for it and I notices a sensor on the housing. So any help would be nice.

So in short, Can i take the air filter housing out to put the New K&N filter.

(The K&N filer is the round one.)

Yes, it's needed. Remove it from the airbox. Use a zip tie to locate it near the new intake.
