intermittently my speedo stays at 0 for a while before it starts reading. Others have c/o same thing - how do you fix it, is it hard (just buy a speed sensor and install?)-----Thanks

my guess would be the speedometer cable. this is just a cable that plugs into the back of the speedometer and goes to a gear plugged into the transmission. most cars work this way (except for some of the newer cars now). one way to check the speed sensor is to turn on the cruise control while driving when the speedo is at 0. if the cruise control works, then the speed sensor is OK, and it's probably the speedo cable. that's my guess. hope it helps.

Thanks, The cruise does not work when the speedo goes nuts. I turn the cruise off and on, and that often times fixes it though. I think many people have had this problem, but I've never seen what was needed to fix it. Some guy at the Nissan place said just get used to it or pay >$500 to get it fixed (he never looked at my car though)
