Frankencar/TB Cleaning update/feeback

Well, I did install my Frankencar a couple of days ago and I was extremely happy with it. However I got some clamps mixed up and didn't shove stuff in all the way (the intake was too long). So I said **** might as well clean my TB while I'm reinstalling it. So I purchased a can of STP TB and Air Intake cleaner for a buck something. I took off my intake and oh my god! There was crud in there like you wouldn't belive! So I spray and clean about 20 times until my paper towels came out looking white. Then I changed the clamps and pushed the mid pipe all the way into the rubber sleeves it comes with. At this time my intake fitted perfectly. Still a very very tight fit but atleast it wasen't rubbing against anything. I start up the engine and it stalls! I was paranoid. I started it up again and it hesitated/shaked like it was going to stall again. So I start reving up and the car stays on still some what shaky. Then I took it for a drive and OMG! This TB cleaning was like a mod itself! I'm sure I've reagained about 1-2 hp and lots of smoothness thru the power band. When I start my car my rpms now go up and back down smoothly. I don't think the TB was ever cleaned before (95k miles). So perhaps that is why it made a huge diffrence in my case. How often should the TB be cleaned? All in all I'm happy go lucky since I did all this. Next up Y-Pipe!

Hey guys. My maxima will be here in a couple days so i'm preparing for it. Now when you say you cleaned the TB what exactly is that/where is that. If someone has pictures of what to clean then please let me know cause i don't want to screw anything up. Also Chino do you have an automatic cause i've been reading about people saying the frankencar and others like that you loose power at low-end and i was really thinking about getting a Frankencar so i was just wondering. Anywho. Thx

Yes I do have an AutoMagick. I was running the HKS SMF Intake (Pop charger w/resonator. When I replaced it with the Frankencar w/mid pipe and Apexi filter I noticed performance gains through the entire power pand. Better low, mid, and high end response. Some will say that the resonator give better low end. I'm not quite to sure because I belive more that I feel and see than what other say. Since I'm actually experiencing it. If you do suffer some low end loss with the midpipe it has to be something like a 1/10 of a Horse. Plus I'm sure the mid pipe helps your high end. So in a nutshell get a Frankencar intake with the Apexi filter (much better than K&N's oil filter). Trust me you won't be sorry! Anything else would be uncivilized. Unless you get a V2 of course!

How does the frankencar with apexi stack up to an injen? the franken with a apexi is about the same price... and they make some crazy horsepower claims on their web site "how does 8-12 hp sound?" well they technically never say the INTAKE will give u 8-12 hp..claim just sounds too nuts.
