Who has a G-Tech Pro Competition? Please help.

I bought a G-tech Pro Competition (used) from a guy and last night I had it at home for the first time and just wanted to make sure that it works. So I plugged it into the wall using the AC adapter that was provided in the kit. The blue backlight came on, on the screen, however I did not get a menu or any graphics of any sort on the screen. Is that normal?

I haven't been able to test it on the car yet because it is still in the shop getting the tranny fixed.

In any case, is this behavour of the g-tech meter normal?
