keep the 95 or get the 2k?
I dont know what to do, my mom has a 2k auto right now, and i have a 95 auto. She is looking to buy a 2k4 maxima and I'd like hers because I know its been kept up very well. However I am a big 4th gen fan and really want a 5spd. My car is slowly running down- 125k miles, tranny doesnt have a ton left on it and simply its not worth putting much more money into this one. But I have the full exhaust from my car and I dont think I could install it onto the 2k, the nitrous could however. Hmmm I dont know what to do.

I didn't se anything about the 5th gen being free. How much does she want for it? Low mileage? Either way, your fourth gen has MANY more miles left on it, if you kept good care of it. 125k is good, even for someone looking for a well-kept used on. I know alady that had a non-vq (80's max) and when she got rid of it it had 400k miles, and she said it was running as good as the day she got it (and that is before the awesome vq came out).VQ's will go forever. All I am saying is, if your 95 is in good condition, keep it. If you can get a good deal on the 2000, get it too. Don't abandon your 5spd fourth gen. just cause it has 125k miles.

. It has about 56k miles on it now, most of which are thruway because she drives back and forth between cleveland and buffalo NY every weekend which is a good 300 miles total. I think I'll end up going w/ it but I want a 5spd so bad, maybe I can sell hers and get a 5spd one. By the way, mine isnt bad, and it's auto not 5spd. Its just that, that's the orignal tranny, I bought the car at 110K, so 15k of them are mine and I know its been taken care of well at least since I've had it. In ther service interval book, it's marked that he used regular and not premium. I'm going to be 18 in a month, so I have plenty of time to get a car, and since I'm in college right now, I dont get to use it all that much anyways- except to drive home and back everyday.

95s are the fastest 4th gen, especially if u have a GXE. 2k is not gonna matter too much in terms of performance unless ur gettin 2k2+. 4th gen has MEVI and turbo kit available. although u got some milage on ur tranny, but i don't think 125k is too much at all. our VQs can last at least 200k IMO. since u already have a full exhaust, why not consider about 5spd swap, MEVI, JWT ECU, or even VB mod if u wanna stick with autos?
