Is custom maxima for real(flywheel)?

I was interested in purchasing a flywheel because it looks like one of the most power gains w/o boosting the car with a SC or NOS. I am kind of skeptical about the power gains that custom maxima bring to the table with the unorthodox racing flywheel. I am i really gonna see that much power gains from a flywheel? If i am, should i get it? People with a lightened flywheel, what do you think about it? Do you really feel a difference? And in your opinion what would be the one to get?

Well, i mean it doesnt GIVE you more power, at all. Mainly what it does is take some weight off, allowing your motor to rev up faster, thus getting you into your powerband quicker. So feasibly it can speed you up, how much? I have no clue. Im not sure anyone has this track tested though...There pretty pricey too, i wish i coulda picked one up when i ordered my clutch, but im fine with having another 400+ bucks in my pocket. With 1/2 of that money i can make my car 10Xfaster than with a flywheel...

then why does custom maxima say that the flywheel releases 10-30 horses?

The Unorthadox is too light.

Jeff92SE sells Fidanzas. I have one, and although I can't tell you the difference between stock 5spd and the Fidanza (because I've never had the stock flywheel.), I'm told it's a nice improvement by friends with 5spd's who have driven my car.

(I put in the flywheel with the 5spd conversion)

PM Jeff - he can tell you alot more.

Don't believe what CM says about power gains.

The flywheel will make your car accelerate a little faster in 1st hear. 2nd is barley noticeable. A lightend flywheels "gains" diminish as you go through the gears. It's a nice mod. Especially if you boosted. I can't make any claims that it improved my times at the track because my track set ups are always different. I would recomend it if you already have most other boltons or your doing some tranny work.
