What year is this engine made? Engine code non-ECU
I recently had a used motor installed in my 97 and I'm curious as to what year motor it is. I have a VI and may want the JWT ECU if this is a 96 motor like I was "told". The number on the block near the clutch housing is "VQ30 320119A" I don't know the VIN # of the car it came out of, all I have is this number from the block. Can anyone help? Thanks.

What year is your car.. Thats all that matters unless they swapped out the whole harness or something like that.

The car is a 97 with a 97 ECU. So, since the engine is running w/o tripping any CELs I thought if it were a 96 engine in there now, I could put a 96 JWT ECU in it since the 97s can't run them w/o CELs? Hope that makes sense. Please enlighten me.
