Intermittent Fast Idle help
Any help you can lend would be great.
My '95 Maxima SE starts up fine and runs ok, but when I come to a stop light, the car idles at about 1500 RPM.
If I goose the throttle, it settles back down to a normal idle speed. Being old enough to remember stuck carburator chokes, it acts exactly like that.
Anyone know what I need to do?
Thanks!!! -- Ian

Clean the throttle body?
I have the opposite happening to me. My idle would drop to 750 and sound "lumpy" meaning that it go into a little up and down cycle. I've already cleaned the throttle body and adjusted the idle speed but that didn't work.
