Where is the best place to tap into the cig lighter? Do I ahve to take anything apart to get to it? Also is it better to mount the neons closer to the firewall or closer to the seats under the dash?

To tap into the cig lighter pry up the dash panel around the shifter. Take a flat head with a cloth around it and stick under the panel toward the back of the car, right infront of the cup holders. Pry up and it should pop out. Don't break anything. That comes out and the cig lighter is in that panel. Unplug the cig lighter and buddy right behind the plug 2-5". I mounted mine beneath the stearing shaft. Whatever u think is good will be good. Use common sense. Will get picks on my homepage if u want.

for the integra, we tapped into the cig lighter fuse instead of directly to it... that was my plan for the maxima as well. in case something happens, i would like to have it fuse protected, its pretty easy that way anyway, just slide the voltage wire into the right side of the fuse, and run it to your switch.

That works too but don't forget that the fuse is for the cig lighter. Meaning that if the load on the cig lighter exceeds 10Amps the fuse pops. So both methods are protected. Sticking the wire on the power side of the fuse isn't exactly very stable. I like doing things right the first time. Wait no i don't! If i wanted it don right i would have made a new fuse slot for the glow. I just do what comes to mind. Just a side note, I cleaned TB today and results are very satisfying. Its not **** ur pants like everyone says but very nice to know that the car is back to new goodness.

yea well, i dont plug anything insane into my cig lighter...and 10amps is definately no problem (running a portable DVD player or something huge in the cig lighter MIGHT, but im not worried... i got 25 extra fuses around) i would say my way is permament, and if done well, doesnt require messing up your dash for tapping the physical cig lighter. I also cleaned my TB (it sadly was a rental car at one point in its life...and pretty filthy) i noticed a better idle and i guess a smoother power band...but not some shocking difference

did 15 inch blue under the dash of my friends 98 5 speed and a 92 integra...fit easy enough. people have said something about 20 inch tubes, but that sounds pretty hard to squish in there

here are my pics, Just like everyone els they are blue now. Red is alittle to strong on the eyes, and alittle annoying. Blue is much more calm. And it made my car look like the deepest ,darkest ,firery, pits of hell.

firey pits blah blah blah....why does everything look horrible and overexposed?
projectmax98, i used zip ties. you can zip tie to existing parts of the underside of the dash (find stuff that doesnt move) or drill small holes, and zip tie through that
