do all 98 GLE come with keyless entry and security system ? i just go a gle and it doesn't have the key fob for the keyless entry but it has the sercurity light. does that mean it has keyless entry? and if i do how do i get a new fobbie and get it programed?

 

pretty much everything is standard on GLE (bose, auto cc., etc) except for the sunroof, cold weather ('95-'97) or Deluxe Seating pkgs ('98-'99), and ABS, so I wouldn't see why remote keyless entry/security system wouldn't be standard... you prob. need the remote itself which you can find off E-Bay pretty cheap and have that reprogrammed for little or no cost by your dealership or there are some DIY instructions you can search for here on the .org to help you out

 

i paid 30 bucks off ebay a few days ago for a pretty nicely used key fob. All you have to do to "program" the key fob is to get in your car, lock the doors, stick your key in the igintion 6 times (or until the hazards flash), and when the hazrds flash press a button on the fob, thats it...

And yes, if you have a security kit, you have keyless...

i am like 98% sure the key piece is standard. Especially if u have light...well that may not mean much but its a GLE...i think they just lost it or it was so beatup they thought it would drop value of car if they showed it to u
