I purchased a 98 Sterling Mist Maxima GXE about a month ago.....i already bought chrome altezza's and the clear corners....spoiler is next....but i'm contemplating whether i should get the stock fog lights or just settle for aftermarket. What do you guys think? And anyone with Sterling Mist Max's please post a pic so i can see the potential of my car.

 

Check out my home site if you want, I don't have fog lights in yet. I am trying to find the right shape and color aftermarket ones for my taste, but they all seem to be blue (from advance auto parts) and I don't think it would look good on mine

make sure you get a 4ft spoiler with your altezzas...then you'll have one sweeeeet max

 

DEFINETLY go with the stock fog lights, they are the BEST ! their shape is awesome, they fit right in the bumper and dont stick out ON the bumper. and the way the head lights and fog lights are shaped, at nights when u turn on the lights, the car looks like its MAD and ANGRY. look closely and see their shape, ull get what i mean. 100% go with stock lights and check my homepage for pics. yea i got 98 sterling mist SE.

 

I agree. stock lights look best. Get some nice bulbs and you'll have a sweet ride

go with the stock if ya got the cash. i have some cheap walmart fogs and they look decent but dont really shed any light on anything. stock by far is better.

 

hey, i have a question, how come both you and i have the SAME car, yet you have the ugly black paint pin strip thing down the side of your max? i dont get it? why do some have it and some dont, it looks so damn ugly? can somebody tell me, my max here doesnt have it my max

 

I'm sure it was a factory or dealer option.. Mine came with a sickening gold pin-stripe, but I got tired of looking at it and took it off.. looks MUCH better without it

Yeah...that damn pinstripe in on my list of free mods to-do. I hate it so much too. Here's a short rundown of what I have planned.

Pinstripe removal
Pillar removal (stock sterling mist underneath...looks tons better imo)
Anniversary Edition makeover (search for a rundown on that)
y-pipe
tint
many, many more items...but the 1st three will be done this weekend.

Do you mean what's special about them? Well, AE editions have the headlights painted inside either black or white. (only the sides...not the full inside)
But there are some other things you can do to go along with the AE idea.
