Is it OK to connect MAF directly to the throttle body in a HAI/CAI setup?

Some of you might find this question silly, but I have been researching different intake setups and I don't have a direct answer.
In this and most setups you have MAF just before the filter:

For what I am trying to build, I would need to connect it directly to the throttle body (where the rubber harmonica is in the pic). Is it going to work the same? Will there be too much vibration that can damage the MAF?
Please help and if you have any pics it would be lovely

the entire intake would be too stiff and put too much pressure on the MAF... why risk that? Anyways anywhere you put it in there it should be the same thing.
