can anyone please tell me WTF is up with my SERVICE ENGINE SOON light?

today i turn on the car and start heading home from school, i suddenly see the CEL is on, i had driven 15 miles previous to CEL coming up today. so i come home, i grab screwdriver and pull the code. it gave me 5 long and 5 short pulses which means No Failure Recorded/Detected.
so i turn key to off mode, turn car on and the CEL is still there. so i turn car back off and pull the code again, but it gives me the same code (05 05) and this time when i turn on the car, CEL is gone !
this thing happend 1 month ago as well, it gave me 05 05, after checking the code it went off untill now. is there anything wrong with it or what? is it refering to a maintaince? (mileage is 24446).

R U resetting the light after you diagnose it? If you are not, you should be...
turn screw all the way right, hold for two seconds, turn all the way back, Repeat once more...start the car
voila, no more cel

guys. the light came on today again. i noticed it only comes on after i drive on freeway (50+ mph).
but 1 thing, i think i have been pulling the code the wrong way all this time man. when i turn it to the right, it never stops, i can be sitting there and turning it for days and it wont stop ( thats what happend right now after checking it again). and it doesnt turn in a perfect circle, its my screw driver goes up and down when i turn it because the thingy that i turn is not turning on a perfect circle if u know what i mean. so it never stopped when i turned it to right, when i was turning it to the right, i just stopped at a point for 2 seconds and turned it back and noticed that it never stops when turning it to the left either. i got the code 05 05 by doing this tho and the light went off again. am i doing it correctly or not?

i took it to mechanic and he wants 30 bux to check it, should i go for it? plz tell me if im pulling the code right or wrong.

Doggy, I just did my the other day. You need to use something thats not as heavy as a screwdriver. I found i was having the same problem as you. I used only a flat head screwdriver bit. The bit alone worked great because you can get more of a feel for whats goin on. Turn it very slightly. For me, it went around about 2 times before hitting the stop, then turn it back and turn slightly until you feel it stop the other way.
