my turn to write a goodbye

Well thanks to all of you who are helping me get rid of my aftermarket parts so quickly. that makes things easier.

My MAX is toast.
i was dropping the GF off (70minute round trip) and a few drops start coming down...then more and more. i saw a wrangler spin right in front of me on the hwy going up..and he ended up in the grass median.
i was going about 45mph.
on the way back, thank God i had her out of the car...one less thing to worry about. i still wasnt going that fast but the rain had done its worst already, and finally let up. so i was doing still 5 miles under the limit. i had just put my stockers back on a few weeks ago, with those darn eagle rs-a on.
well you know how the road is when its wet...it has those trails of "dry" and those trails of wet. and then theres inconsistency where rainwater is just more dangerous. well i guess i moved the wheel ever so slightly, and the combination of the diminishing tread on my RS-A and the water caused Max to lose grip, and i was sliding at about a 30 degree angle one way, then the other, never spinning or braking...but im pretty sure i let up off the gas and Max just went corner first towards the guardrail.
i heard the busting lights, crunching fenders, ripping bumper, and then finally saw steam as i came to a halt.
Well, im not going into detail on what happened after that because its the usual. Though..it was just after 12:40 am and no authorities came around at all..and it was picking up on the rain..and my front lip fell off..and tire busted. The end result is lessons learned, about life, whats important, what the focus in life should be, and that a good car is hard to come by.
I'm trying to find a car that suits me but i have 15 grand probably to work with. Insurance is giving a pretty good amount at $11,XXX. but i'm going to settle for a new corolla, civic, or something similar because my pops who is helping me with a few thousand bucks (i have just started my career and am trying to scrape a few bucks together) doesnt believe in used cars.
I was just rear ended last september, one day off from this incident, and once again i am driving a rental Saturn. Sometimes i treat the Max like more than a hunk of metal. Im not that weird, its not my best friend but its more like a dog to me. So its not that weird if i miss this car is it. oh well this is how it went down.

its been fun driving this car, which i swear saved my life a few times, and doing the org thing for almost 2 yrs.
sorry for the book writing.

yes ..i forgot to mention that i have been very fortunate God was watching out for me. about 7 feet earlier and i would have ended up in the bushy ditches with a MUCH harder impact.
it was a "good" hit.

glad that you are ok, you can always get a new car. People never put enough value in good tires, im sure that with the HTR+ this would have never happened.

Sorry to hear about your accident, sucks.

Nows your chance to get some muscle....get an F-body Z28 6spd with low miles for $10 grand. Raw/Brash power/style. The best part about one is pulling up next to a ricer and revving. You almost feel embarrassed for him as his exhaust emits a high pitched buzz, drowned out by 5.7 liters of brute, thundering power.

All the Domestic V8 hater rice boy Maxi owners here can kiss my ****.

So sorry to hear about the accident. It a shame to lose a car that way, esp. a car that you really enjoy driving. You're quite right that it's like losing a dog. I've lost both a "fun car" and a dog. It leaves a hole in your heart for a little while but you always look back with fond memories. But lots of other better things will come in the future of one sort or another.

It was cool that we got to meet through your Unc Ken & the forum!! What a small world eh? (I just had to use some Canuck-ese" mwahahaha!)

Take care & stay in touch sil.

it was great

hey guys, i'm pretty new to the forum. sil se has been my friend for many many years. its been great playing with all our cars the whole year. its so sad to see the car in the state it is now. but alas, something better will come. and because of freak accidents like this, we must try to not get attached to our cars so much.

spent saturday working on his car and taking off as much stuff as possible. unfortunately had to tear max apart. but, i got to transfer a lot of his stuff to my mom's max which will be my daily driver, and 240 weekend driver, hehe. took the suspension, jwt pop, taillights, and the intermittent wiper stalk, hehe. looking forward to hanging out here more often and learning a lot.

sil, time to move on. we'll have lots more fun with your new toy. and we will always look back and remember the fun times we had with max. but his soul will live on with g-max. and remember to keep your eye on the real goal

heh yeah his moms car was this nasty gxe on hubs with orange corners and orange tails. now its a nasty gxe on hubs with orange corners and one red clear tail and one orange. .. oh yeah and a nice drop.
i think the real goal is.....
i really dont know what he means so i wouldnt expect anyone else to.

the real goal is to be a model citizen...do good things at church..and make money.
the meaning of life isnt to have a good car. i can tell you that..because my beloved buddy the max is now gone.
and now i am going to 4 cylinder land.

Im sorry about the incident but U wont find me dead in those peaces of S H I T. Get a normal car. A used maxima is better then those 3 you mentioned.

well ill tell you this.. im not going for a corolla or civic. i have something else in mind (believe me none of this is my choice but im going to spend the next few years just using a car that gets me around and lets me take my mind off the car thing for a while because i spend way too much time thinking about it. i need to just rearrange my priorities.

did the same thing after my car accident, lost a zippy loaded car (raced a fair ammount) and got stuck with something slow. it helped though, it taught me my limits, and basically showed me before i was dumb, and squirely. even though u seem to be a wiser man than I, everything will work out fine
