I changed my oil (warm) for the first time in my 95 GXE and added the correct amount of oil 4 5/8 quarts, including the filter. I then ran the engine and checked for leaks, let it sit and checked the oil level. It read about 1/3 quart high. Is the owner's manual oil capacity wrong, or am I not getting all the oil out??

 

The correct oil capacity is 4 1/4 quarts, including the oil filter.

 

My Owner's Manual calls for 4.25 US quarts with filter change.

 

According to my owners manual (95) it calls for 4 5/8qt with oil filter and 4 1/2qt without oil filter. But at the very top of the page it states "The following are approximate capacities. The actual refill capacities may be a little different." Just FYI I usually only put in 4 qts of oil which always brings it to the center of the add/full line and just keep checking the oil as needed.
