Drop resistor mod

How healthy is it for a slipping tranny to be used with the drop resistor mod? I was thinking it might help a bit since its slipping, and full pressure got rid of it and it nearly chirped from 1-2nd. Any thoughts on this?

If you have a tranny cooler it might help, but daily driving at full line pressure is not a good idea. Since your tranny is going get the cooler anyway (to keep this tranny, and the next one, lasting longer), but dont drive around with the mod all day long.

I drove down to Maximum Tuning to see Jeff for my VB mod. I got the "street and strip" style of shifting that he has. I am happy with it, it wasn't terribly expensive, I dont recall the exact price but you can go to his website http://www.maximumtuning.net and check it out.

Jeff gave me a ride in his max, now I need a supercharger....
THANKS JEFF

1. Its not ALOT of money, but the word is it extends the life of your tranny (you WILL need a tranny cooler)

2. You cannot turn if off

3. It shifts faster and harder.

In my max, the 1-2 shift is hard and 2-3 is quick 3-4 I am going soo fast I am never paying attention to the shifting Or I am wishing I had a 5 speed.

I like my VB mod, i'm glad I didnt get the "racing" type of VB mod that Jeff has because the street and strip one makes the shifting fast enough and hard enough for my taste.

well mr. off topic, thats exactly what i was saying. the drop resistor will make a noticeable improvement and is cheaper, but not something you want to leave on when your not racing...bad idea, and bad for your trans (anyone know which would show more improvement in e.t.?) so if your tranny is slipping and already kind of dying, why would you put on a mod that is specifically bad for your trans?

The drop resistor would yeild the best 1/4 mile times since it shifts as hard as the car possibly can. VB mod is somewhere in the middle depending on which one you choose

so if the vb is in between, how come its better for the trans that stock, but not as bad as the drop resistor?
