I called stillen interested in their y-pipe. The guy I spoke to said that they just redesigned the Max Universal y-pipe about 1 1/2 months ago. Now it has a ceramic coating instead of the shiny nickel plating.

Back to the question...Anyone out there already have this installed? And if so, what do you think?

I installed this on another member's 97 Maxima. From the box it seemed like a pretty nice and well designed unit. I did have probs with fitment. The bracket that it came with did not fit right so i bent it and it worked. He likes it and hasnt complained of any "bees in a can" sound

I am anxiously awaiting your review. I'm dying to get one, but the "bees in the can" reports worry me. Please post about your install and initial reactions when you get it in. Thanks.

Where are you. Cali??? I was wondering if you could install mine after I get it.

Another thing...when I talked to a sales rep at Stillen, I specifically asked about fitment issues, and he replied that there was absolutely none. He even went on to blame Cattman for the fitment issues because they bought a Stillen y-pipe and tried to copy/replicate it. What an ***!

im located in SF Bay Area. Ive installed both Cattman and Stillen Y-pipes i even had a Cattman myself when i was NA. I also had the oppertunity to see both Stillen and Cattman units together and see the designs and such and i belive the Cattman unit is better.
A sales rep will always say theirs has no probs while their competetors does....try to find unbiased opinions. I belive that my opiniions are pretty much unbiased...

New Stillen pipe is built better. I have had mine installed for about a month, and it is great. There is a slight hiss at WOT, but I only hear that now that I have modified my airbox to be quiet again. It is pretty good, though -- no bees in a can.

I just spoke with my contact at Stillen. He is going to try and talk his boss into giving me a good deal if we can get some more people involved. He will be getting back with me on Monday.

Unless the deal is "sweet", I won't be posting a separate thread just on the group deal. Regardless, You guys keep up with this thread as I will keep it updated with the latest news that I have.

Looking forward to being a proud owner of a baby Y-Pipe!

Put me down.....

If we could get the pipe for $300 shipped, I think we could sell them out. This would be the most cost-effective mod for the price. $300 = at least 10 hp if not more.

Whoever has the contact at Stillen work this deal. I'm sure we could get at least 10 people to go in the first round.

Bottom line, keep me posted!!!!

YA YA!

Count my *** in, too.
I was just looking at the Warpspeed page...
I'd rather pay a little extra for the Stillen!

No doubt! Plus buying directly from Stillen gives me ease of mind, because they will fully support technically and also replace the part if something goes wrong.

I just installed my (used) Stillen SS Ypipe yesterday and it went on no problems. It fit on a 97max and my 99max with no modifications. My car defintely feels faster and it has a cool hissing sound akin to a turbo So there's one plus for Stillen from me.

i just called stillen a few days ago and spoke with adam. he sold me a y-pipe for $249.00. did he sell me the old design? he said that they won't have any available for 10 days so i was assuming that it was the 2 piece. anyways, i asked him to confirm the price like 3 times and he said $249.00. what gives? are there two different materials?

Yo 95greense,
You spoke to Adam? Ok, I'll be speaking to him as well. Maybe we can get it even cheaper on this group deal.

RKS,
The newly designed Stillen y-pipe has a ceramic coating. It's not SS.

Please excuse my ignorance Turbo95Max. I've never heard a Max w/ a Turbo, but my friend's Turbo MX6 gets a hiss. I'm speaking from the exhaust perspective when it sounds like a Jet back at the exhaust.

just called adam to confirm the pricing and he told me that he made a mistake. he told me that he does that sometimes so i cancelled my order. funny thing is that another .org member talked me out of ordering from warpspeed because he said that he was quoted $249.00 for the stillen y also. oh well.

Yo 95greense...

I would call Stillen back and ask to speak to the sales team manager. Let him know what happened (especailly how you already put the order in), and demand that you get yours for the qouted price

Talked to my contact at Stillen....

To all that are interested in the group deal...I just talked to my contact and he hasn't gotten a chance to talk with his supervisor yet. He said something about his boss being out of town. He is getting back to me tonight or sometime tomorrow.

The Stillen Y is made of mild steel and ceramic coated. If all Y pipes offer similar gains, the best deal bang for the buck is the Warpspeed. But I do recall Dan suggesting they were considering a modification to the transition piece or the flex connector, which leaves me thinking it's not yet refined.

I spoke with a guy at Stillen today and he quoted me around 300 I think for their Y pipe. I told him I thought that was too high given other alternatives on the market in SS and he just went on and on (I think he likes to hear himself talk)about how theirs is proven and **** like that.
I have nothing against them personally but his sales pitch was such BS I'm of the impression they feel entitled to get our business.

I want a Y pipe bad but I'll wait unless this deal gets hooked up at 250 or get the Warpspeed unit down the road.

And thank you to Warpspeedperformace for adding some competition to this market.
