cold AND warm weather starts! fuel pump??
ok now for the last 6 months my car has been having trouble starting it ALWAYS happens in either really hot or really cold weather, the car will crank perfectly but not start, i wait for minutes trying to crack again and again and finally after pumping the peddle for like 2 mins itll start and MASSIVE AMOUNTS OF SMOKE flow outa the muffler obvious cuz of the flooding from the pumping but thats the only way to start it..i try holdinfg the key on on position for a 10secs b4 cracking still no different
i took to deal 2x they said they cant find a problem cuz whenver they start it is either mid day or evening so tempertures are fine. ok BUT AFTER dealing with this I AM THINLKING TO REPLACE FUEL PUMP can someone offer me advice on if that could help?? and is there actually a way to disbale the 02 sensor cuz im not sure but i tihnk the last time i went to the dealer they might have disabled it cuz the light came on. but anways fuel pump??
thanks for any advice

You have one of two things gonig on.
1) The signal from the crank position sensor (POS) is weak. You can remove the sensor and clean the tip of the find metalic dust that accumulates on it. The sensor is located under the car on the transmission bell housing twards the front. It looks at the flywheel.
2) You engine coolant temperature sensor is faulty. To check this sensor you'll need the an ohm meter and the Haynes shop manual for the temp/resistance table.
Your fuel pump is not whats causing your hard starts.
