I've seen it on a 99 - looked great. Not sure on the 95-96 models, though. Good luck!

If you have 95/96 then you'd better have the red/clears already. The orange inserts do not come out like they do for 97-99s. Just a forewarning.

Why is this called the Dallas Taillight Mod and it first showed up at Stillen Day in Cali over 5 years ago?

Do you have pics? I couldn't tell you because I know the person that did this to his Max, dtholmanmax (see above), was being original and to my knowledge had not seen anything of the sort before. This is the first time I (and I am very sure many others) have ever heard this.

Was the actual DTM procedure the same as this "Stillen Day" Maxima you mentioned? You have read the procedure, right?

96shogun, i dont think u should do it. You have the lightest maxima made, WHITE, red/clears would look better IMO. the tinted ones wont be BAD but they wont be as good as red/clears, unless you just want to be different.

Please note that it's not actually smoked - on 97-99s we take the amber reflector out of the blinker and the white reflector out of the reverse lights. Then we paint the bare metal behind the reflectors black. The actual lense is clear at that point.

I am not sure that I was the first one to do this - I started out trying to do the white reflectors in there but got impatient with it. My friend said "do it like this" and we tried it. I had never seen anyone with it before and then all my boys in D-town started doing it like this, too. They started calling it the Dallas Taillight Mod - So at least in Dallas, I am the original. I had not seen it anywhere else before. Props to those who did it 5 yrs ago, I guess...

and whom every smokes their Amber on their 95-96 .. Nadir did it also.. so before you guys go around throwing names on mods you need to find out if someone else did it first

So why don't you or Nadir throw a name on it. A name would be nicer and be easier to say than, "smoking the amber signals on the 95/96 tails"
Just throwing something out.

talk to Nadir about that.. i don't know he named it..

why does it have to be name something specific..

Red/Clear Tails for 97 - 99 has been named as such for 6 years.. I am not sure if Cheston was the first one to do it.. but its not called the "Cheston Tail Light Mod"

Ok bro check it ,

The way we do it here In Big D is called DTM we didnt see anyone else's cars and copy the way they did it ,we did it with no info at all ,Dave aka dtholmanmax just did it so the way we do it is called the DTM we have done it on 95-96 clears,97-99 reg max taillights and even altezza's the way WE proceed when tinting our tail lights ,which by the way the lens is not tinted at all,it is left clear and the housing in darked creating a stunning look,Bluebob has even done a wrightup on it. I know you are a well respected mod here on the ORG whom I have always look up to for your insight and knowledge I know that you can understand that there are a few different ways of doing a modd ,all we are saying is the WAY we do this modd is called the Dallas Taillight modd or it has also been called
