Cleaning the Oxygen Sensors

Is there a way to clean the oxygen sensors so that they perform better. Instead of spending 100 bucks on a new one? I also read somewhere that there was another sensor, i think the throttle position sensor, somethin like that. The person said to clean off the metallic dust and it will help the engine run smoother. Anyone have any idea?
