just want to confirm ?'s about installing oem 95 fog lights to gxe

i searched and there were tons of threads but i'm just trying to confirm from you guys directly that i'll be all set. got good condition fogs for $105 shipped, got the light stalk for $10 at a junkyard, hopefully getting the mounting brackets for $30 shipped from another member(waiting on that). is that all i need or is there anything else? do i really need a relay? is there a cutout that comes in the kit someone could scan and send me? i just want it to go smoothly when i do the install. i'm not worried about the headlight/foglight stalk swap cuz i've done that before with the intermittent wipers. the only thing i'm not 100% on is cutting the holes and such.

so if you guys could leave me some good words of advice and such, i'd appreciate it greatly. thanx!

u first need to make sure you have the comfort package...if you do its basically plug and play and you might need a relay to put in the foglight spot under the hood...but that should be it. Good luck

i don't believe i have the comfort package. however, when i looked the other day i saw orange (plugs/clips/harnesses - whatever you'd call them) that i'm pretty sure are for fogs. any idea where to get the relay and what to look for? thanx!

well i got the relay from a junkyard for $5. should be getting my mounting brackets friday. anyone have advice on cutting the holes??? i think i'm gonna use a dremel. do you guys think i should put the car up on ramps? that might make it easier to do. also, can anyone tell me about the plastic shielding on the bottum of the car...mine sticks out in one spot and i figured out that it is just bent funny and can be fixed, but can they all be removed easily or do you have to be careful when taking out those screws. thanx

Before you do any cutting, maybe you can install the stalk first to make sure the car is prewired for fog. There is a plug in the steering that plugs into the new stalk. Also, check to see if the plug under the front bumper really plugs into the fog light. I saw in the instruction sheet that the car needs the comfort and convenience package.

There should be a few spare ones in the fuse boxes. I had 2 or 3 when I did my light rewiring...

that's a good call, i was gonna do that soon to get it over with anyways so that'll be a good way to double check. i can't imagine what else those plugs go into cuz they're right where they'd need to be, but you never know. i'll do that tomorrow and then post results.

Not to hijack.. hopefully, but does anyone know if the fog light kits that dealerships sell such as the one listed on this page, http://www.nissandealer.com/jerry-rome/part_catalog.cgi include absolutly everything? including the wiring and headlight stalk for those of us who have a totally base model GXE? I've been wanting some fog lights but unfortunatly I do not have the C&C package, so it might be a bit more difficult to install them.

I got the fog light kit from ABC Nissan and it came with everything. Stalk, relay, fuse, brackets, bolts, fog lights (of course!), instructions, etc. Mine is a 98 + C&C package so the installation was very easy. Bumper already has the cut-out from the factory.
