Strong gasoline smell while car on
Strong gasoline smell while car on
recently, about 2 or 3 days ago, I've been smelling gas pretty bad coming through the vent whenever the car is on. The smell is strongest when driving really slow or stopped with the vent blowing, its not as bad while driving at faster speeds or if the vent is off, or if the windows are down.
I'm not sure if this has anything to do with the smell but, before I noticed the smell I checked one of my spark plugs to see if it was worn since I got my car recently, it was at 72k miles and I didn't know if it ever had spark plugs changed... the plug looked fine so i put it back in the way it was supposed to be put in...
The few days after that have been pretty warm so I've been driving with the windows down, but the past 2 or 3 days got cooler and the smell became apparant.
any ideas how to fix it?
thanks

If your fuel filter was indeed replaced recently, when the car is running, check the fuel filter's connections to the fuel hose. Most likely it was not secured tightly enough and there is a small leak.
that aint too bad...
