Does a Y-Pipe add pull at low-end rpm's?

I wanna get a Y-Pipe, but i like the pulling between 1500 and 4000 RPM's, will a Y-Pipe change any of that? If so, will it make it pull any harder at the low RPM's?

no, i have had a warpspeed y-pipe for about a year and a half now and i can see that they kick in between 2800 to somewhere between 5-6. You WILL feel it though, its not one of those mods that just gets loud and makes u think it works. If you are 5 speed, keep yourself in 3rd gear or even 2nd around 3500 rpm, you get pressed in to the seat, its not nos or turbo but u can feel it kick in

that is morovate's 95 maxima dynoed with stillen popcharger and budget y-pipe. just like mecca said, the y-pipe gain doesn't come in until 3,500rpm-redline.

I was lookin into the warpspeed Y-Pipe. Any difference between Warpspeed, Budget, and Stillen? Or is it basically the same thing as far as power and sound?

Maybe my car is just a freak, but mine pulls more all over the rpm range. I can leave the line quicker than alot of other 5spd's I've ran into (including max's) and one's with CAI's.

I had a hybrid intake before (PRCAI top half and stillen pop) now I just have the stillen w/ the stock resonator. It could be drivers, but this kid near me has a 96 auto (mine is 95 auto) and all my bolt ons- no nitrous at the time- gave me about 4 car lengths on him. Even though he had his CAI, so the exhaust stuff did help all around.

I have the stillen Y-pipe and I absolutely love the way my car pulls. I also have the straight racing pipe and a greddy cat-back..very fast..i haven't got a dyno done since I live in NM. But I love the way my car sounds and the way it picks up.

most likely since it eliminates your 3rd cat, if you live in a state where they check, dont get the stillen y-pipe

Just let the car warm up well, like 30 mins worth of driving before inspection and you will pass easy.

it eliminates the first 2 cats, 3rd cat is between the y-pipe and cat-back.

Right, my mistake...I must have been drunk when I posted that. It'll never happen again.
