Got Headers in the mail!!

Got my Cattman headers in the mail and they look so so sweet.
Brian thanks!! You did an awesome job. Being patient really paid off.
So glad I didn't get the Y pipe and some one thought of us in the 96 year range for a change, example "no red/clears" for the back lights. Now I plan to combine them with the GReddy catback but waiting for the SP2 to hit the market. Also waiting for shipment of my MEVI, thanks to IanS.
Guy's if still dont have the Y pipe get these headers, they really do go all the way back and supposed to give more HP so now is the time. I'll be the only one in my area with them, for now.

Nomad, this is what you can do for the entire maxima community.
1. First please do a dyno before you install the headers and after you install the headers so we can see exactly how much power you are gaining.

2. Please tell us exactly how long the installation took and how much your charge for labor was.

Also, how much did you pay for the headers??

Thanks. Mike.

PLEASE listen to mforrest... There's a lot of yapping, but no real dyno plots, i'd also feel better if the testing was done without the involvement of the manufacturer...

Yes, I will promise to get pictures up soon. They have kind of a chrome finish but seeing is believing. Dont think I'll do a Dyno first, here it's like $200.00 an hour but I will after all my mods are done. Other than that I'll keep everyone posted on my progress.

I wish I did have an affiliation with Cattman or anyone else for that matter, sponsership would be very nice. I hope someone is reading all this that might throw me a bone or something, anything free would be nice. All my Mods except for my dash kit have been purchased by me. My fiance got me my carbon fiber dash kit for X-mas last year instead of clothes and cologne.

Can I suggest a better deal on a dyno shop? Searching the SE forums here I ran across Cartek Tuning in Davie, only 15min SW of you.

They look much more reasonable. Considering you're spending $800 on parts + instatllation I would think you'd like to see your own gains before and after for your own peace of mind.

If you don't do any DYNO runs before the install there is no point of doing any after the install. Plain and simple...

please for goodness sake do something. Here is another idea, perharps you can go to a track and post three runs without and three runs with the headers. This is a lot cheaper than dyno and it will at least give us an idea of what to expect for performance.

I'm in agreement with everyone. If you don't do a before and after dyno you will never know if you are really getting your moneys worth. Just from talking its already been said that the only people that may benefit from headers are the FI guys. Anyone else may gain at most 5hp from them. This would be a grerat opportunity to prove something for the entire maxima community. I understand dyno time is expensive but someone has suggested another place for you to go. Please reconsider the before and after dyno.

Also, I have to admit the price isn't that bad. This is the way I look at it. Cattman normally sells there y-pipe for $350. The headers from Cattman cost $750 which comes with a y-pipe. So in actuallity you are paying $400 for the headers and $350 for the y-pipe. Anyone else feel like this is a good price?

Ok. Thanks a lot. Once you get that done I'm going to ask the mods to sticky this thread so everyone can see what exactly headers will do for the max. Thanks. Mike.
