Idle Issue..Already checked IAV

96 Maxima GXE Automatic w/194K miles...

Checked the diagnosis codes and got a
0504, 0304, and a 0205?? I think..The description was in regards to teh idle speed control...

I checked the IAV and removed it from the PMD to make sure that the plunger like instrument was free from obstruction and checked the ohm reading for the 1 -2, 2-3, 4-5, 5-6 and all were around 30.7 and one was at 32.7...I called a local shop and the valve is 319.00 to replace so I am hoping it is something else.

The 0504:
Diagnostic Trouble Code 0504 points to a problem with the Automatic Transmission Communications line. Pulse signals are exchanged between the Engine Control Module and the Transmission Control Module to assure smooth shifting during hard acceleration or deceleration.
I can not find the TCM and do not know how to check it.

I am looking for any help I can get, as right now I am grounded (laugh)...The MAX can not take flight....

SOS..SOS...

Thanks,
Steve

0205 - did you try to clean ur IACV? clean it very, very good.
0304 - knock sensor, least of ur worries right now, you can search about this one.
0504 - go have ur battery tested at autozone for free. ur TCM is located behind hte shifter/ under the radio, pull off the trim peice around the shifter and u will see it

I cleaned the top part of the valve where the connections are made to the harness. I wiped the connectors clean..

If I give the car gas it runs, but just turning it on it hardly idles at all and when it does for a minute it idles REAL HARD.

The battery appears to be strong...Can't I check it with a voltmeter?
