Maxspeed Springs

I saw there was a group deal on Maxspeed springs for 87 bucks. I was wondering how the ride is on these and if they are good for the price, or am i going to have to get into shocks and what not. My find who is a mechanic said he can get them on with a spring compressor and some time, i just hope the bushings arent shot when we do this. Anyone know how long bushings last... on a 106,000 mile 1996 gle. Also, will these maxspeed springs be ok with a manuel transmission (i heard somewhere you cant drop them as low) and can you even tell its dropped at 1.5 inches.

i know its a lot
thanks Jeff

IMHO I think it is a good ride and a good drop,i have had mine on for about 5 months...it is safe to say that they have settled and dropped as far as they are going to go!I have about 1.5 inch drop and i comboed them with kyb agx shocks,i am happy all around......I'll be even happier when i put my 18inch Tantrums on,than it will look that much more dropped.....btw i too am manual,no prob there!Word of caution.....Curbs and driveways you use to clear with ease......be careful cuz you my not still clear with such ease!

hmm thanks, do want people to notice it's lowered so maybe i should consider another spring. I know the H&R's are about the same drop, is there some kind of coilover for the max?

i have maxspeeds with a manual tranny.. the drop was dissapointing. i took them off and cut a coil on all 4.. look at my homepage for pics.. even cut, they handle great, but dont expect to perform well auto-xing on these. they are still fairly soft. i dont bounce around like some may think. ride is reasonable on good-decent roads. does get annoying on bumpy roads. agx are on 3/5. drop is much better, but its still a 2 finger gap in front and 2.5 -3 in rear. damn nissan engineers made the wheel wells too bigg!!
