Just changed the knock sensor
I just changed my Knock Sensor this past saturday. man what a difference! I wasn't sure i'd be able to tell the difference, but i deff can! If you've never changed yours and your nearin 100k, I'd suggest you change it, youll feel a big difference, I know I did.
i just changed 2 knock sensors last weekend.
what a pain in the butt!! the 95 max gle was a lot easier. the 96 max se was harder cause there is a electrical connector in the way. i was getting 03 04 codes on both cars. there was a huge improvement in both cars when i test drove them after the install.
now my girlfriends 98 max gle is getting the 03 04 along with 07 05 and 03 09. it only has 52,000 miles on it so i am going to check with the dealership to see if it is covered under warranty or if there is a service bulletin for it??

it pulls harder all the time, and is less hesitant when stepping on the gas while already doing 50 mph.
Changin it was deff a pain in the *** without removing the manifolds. The process is extremely simple, its just getting to it is where the work is.
I have fairly big hands, so it is deff do-able for a DIY.
I was getting the code (0304). I was unsure whether or not it was the sensor itself, or just a circuit fault because i had other codes along with that one. But i figured that it was never changed, so i just changed it anyway, and found out that thats what it was! Woohoo, Score!
