Brake problem

I have a problem with my brakes, primarily my passenger side front brake. Sometimes, it makes a weird sound, which I think it might be the rotor because its not a constant noise, like eeeeeee, but like dut... dut... dut. Sometimes the noise is present and sometimes it isnt. When I turn left, the sound isn't really there but when I turn right, it makes it louder. I bought Raybestos QS and having them installed on Wednesday. Just wondering if it could be a problem with my rotors =/. I really hope not because a college student with no job isn't helpful. If it is the rotors, would you recommend buying new ones from here or have them resurfaced and how much would it cost approximately. thanks
-Mark

Noise could be from your drive axles, or constant velocity joints. Noise when turning on one side but not the other is a symptom of bad drive axles. Did you show the car to a mechanic?

I don't know if you're braking while turning, but it could be the strut bearings

Do Midas and Meineke have free inspection of those things? Approximately how much would it cost to replace those things? How often do those last, my car has 55k.

Well I have 3 Midas shops near me and I know one of them inspects for free and I know the other one charges for inspections, but I'm not sure about the third one yet.

The front Nissan strut bearings are like $30-35 each at the dealer (about $25 each if you buy it online with the 25% discount).

Go see if they have a free inspection at a shop that's near you and hopefully they'll tell you your problem.

If it the brake pad has worn, and it is eating the rotor, which part of the rotor wouldn't be smooth... because it might be that.

I had a thumping noise when braking. I had checked all the brake components checked and they were OK. It turned out that the front tire was causing the noise. The belts in the tire were defective. If you can't see anything wrong with the brakes, have your tires inspected by a tire shop
