brake and shifter noise whats wrong

brake and shifter noise whats wrong
when i start my 97 gle i press the brake to put the auto transmission in gear, when i press the brake i hear a tick in the shifter, also you can feel it when you touch the shifter, i dont think it ticks when i am driving
any explanations , whats wrong, how can i fix it????
