Definative color name/code/years available list...

...According to my brochures (have all 4th gen except '97 and that was easy enough to look up). I won't say this is the complete list...slightly shakey on 99.5 colors as Crimson Blaze wasn't listed in the '99 brochure. Quick notes...Pebble Beige is an OLD color...you could have gotten it on 2nd & 3rd gens...I don't know of any paint color (save black) that lasted thru 3 generations of the same model. I think Platinum Iris may be the rarest color Maxima...It was only offered on '96 GXE and GLE models and I can recall only ever seeing 1 maybe 2 on the road.

---1995
QNO--Arctic White Pearl
CG2--Pebble Beige Metallic
BM1--Deep Blue Pearl
AL0--Ruby Pearl
KN6--Granite Pearl
DJ2--Black Emerald
KH3--Super Black

---1996

CG2--Pebble Beige Metallic
LP0--Platinum Iris
BN6--Starfire Blue Pearl

KN6--Granite Pearl
DPO--Deep Evergreen
KH3--Super Black

---1997
QNO--Arctic White Pearl
CG2--Pebble Beige Metallic
FS0--Sage Mist Green
BS3--Neptune Blue
LS5--Rosewood
LS6--Concord Mist
DP0--Deep Evergreen
KH3--Super Black

---1998
QNO--Arctic White Pearl
CG2--Pebble Beige Metallic
FS0--Sage Mist Green
BS3--Neptune Blue
LS5--Rosewood
KT3--Sterling Mist
DP0--Deep Evergreen
KH3--Super Black

---1999 & 1999.5
QT1--Icelandic Pearl
EV0--Sunlit Sand

I dunno...the brochure, paintscratch.com and the touch-up paints section of courtesyparts.com all say QN0 up to and including '98.

Anyone have a link to an example, or better yet a MAX with the sunlit sand color? My car was cheaply repainted before I bought it, "as close as possible" and I know think it is Sunlit Sand but would like to verify.. thanks!

If yours is 99.5, and beige, it's Sunlit Sand. Pebble Beige wasn't offered after 1998.

I'm also pretty sure I've seen examples of '98's that are QN0.

Thats explains it,I like the color better than pebble beige, but I could not figure how the color of my car was the closest to "pebble beige" that a paint shop could get... SE-L so it was definatelt sunlit sand.. thanks for the info.

Cool website, just the car picture is pretty damn small!

Thanks. Pics can't really be made much bigger for the sake that many visitors run on smaller resolutions, plus it's sometimes hard to find a bigger pic. Maybe if people would actually help me, I'd make them bigger though

Their list isn't entirely accurate...

Not advertising or anything, but you're better off using my site

I can verify that many many hours were taken to put the list on Tatanko's site and it prob. the definitive reference on paint codes. I remember when he just had a view 4th gen colors hahah.

Correct me if I'm wrong... but the color code is supposed to be found somewhere in the serial number right?

After looking at the code list I went to go check out my serial number and none of those color codes were on it. It's a 97' SE and I'm sure it's sage green mist. I just can't figure out why I can't find the color code somewhere inside that number. So I guess Im wrong? I dunno.

You can find your color code on your firewall plate. It's that shiny metal plate in the back of the engine bay. 3-digit/letter code, off all on it's own, seperate from the VIN and everything else.

I have a little table where you can look at which colors were offered for each year. If you look, there's actually 3 greens available for that year.
