Engine running rough
Engine running rough
Hello all,
My car just started running rough. The threw the code 0201. I found which cylinder when unplugged was not affecting the engine speed. I looked at the obvious (iginition pack) I then swapped the spark plug and the pack with another cylinder, same thing, so I know it is not the pack nor the spark plug.
Maybe I broke something while working in the vicinity and doing the following last weekend:
Change starter
Cleaned 2 crankshaft position sensors
Changed 2 belts (power steering and alternator belts)
Can anyone give me an idea of what the problem could be please?
Thank you very much,
Stephane

Here is an update, I checked the voltage for that harness connector and #3 gives me the battery voltage and #1 gives me the ground. Then I checked the condensor which is in specs. The only thing I think is left is the ECM connector. Would someone know where I can find this connector? Where is the ECM?
Am I in left field?
Thanks again for any help you can provide,
Stephane

What an idiot I am. I got the 0201 because I unplugged the pack while the engine is running enought time to cause this code!
So I cleared the code and got 0608 Cylinder#1 misfire. That is more like it.
So back to my question, what could be the cause knowing that it's not the pack, the spark plug nor the 12v or ground wire that is the problem. As I30tMikeD said, would an defective injector throw a Cylinder misfire code or is there a specific code for that.
Please help me
