autotragic help after some track races

Im owner of autotragic 1995 maxima, after 4 1/4 tracks my tranny is very weard. I have to accelerate a little on D, 1, 2, or R for the gear launch.

I can be on R...if i chage the gear to 1...nothings happen after i accelerate a little.

A VB upgrade is not going to help if you are already having troubles with your transmisson. Get it working properly first.

I don't run a VB upgrade and it works fine for racing.

Get your valve body checked out... mine did the same thing earlier this summer, and would only reverse. It turned out to be the valve body.

Yes, sound like a tranny vb problem. Get it fixed before it gets worse. I would recommend a Nissan dealership for something like this. Do not trust some scrub shop.

I took my tranny to a reputable chain here and they just f@cked around and did nothing. I couldn't trust them. With the dealership you can always trust a large job like this to them. In my case, I didn't pay much more either and got a brand spankin' new 5-spd tranny.

You choices if you need to get another tranny would be used from a wrecker or a remanufactured tranny (no new auto trannys exist for our cars). Remanufactured would be better because you never know what condition the used one would be in, but it would also cost more.

Good luck.

alright, when i bought my vb my stock tranny was fine. after doing the install(myself) the tranny would do the same thing yours is doing. when i came to a complete stop and then let off the brake my car would not move forward, it just sat there as if it were in neutral. they call this neutralizing. i took my car to a reputable shop and they rebuilt the tranny 1700 after tax. this took care of the neutralizing but now when the car was rolling forward(as it should do) when i would accelerate the car would almost jerk into gear. max tunning sent me a second vb and that is what fixed the jerking into gear.

if your getting a complete rebuild for 600 you better jump on that deal

good luck

That's awesome if an stock auto does 0-60 in 6.7 sec! How did you measure it? Track timeslips will not tell you that... but do you have a timeslip as well?

what was you 1/4 mile time? if you went to 60 in 6.7 you probably have the fastest stock auto 4gen here. the majority of stock autos run to 60 around 8 seconds maybe a little less. most time slips i have seen dont give a 0-60 reading. if youve got the right numbers, more power to you and good luck with that tranny

id also suggest, if you dont do anything to your fixed tranny at least get a tranny cooler.

yes my car makes 6.7 but im a little not stock, i have y pipe and intake...im waiting my apexi WS cat back...i bought form Ange 412 shipped last day.
My time is 1/4 time on the track, so im sure its a good time, i raced wednesday with a 300zx and i win for 4 cars almost, SI and it was like joke, a A3 Turbo and joke too....im very happy with my car doesnt matter is autotragic...for me is automagic jejeje. but anyway.
I went to a tranny shop(the best on the town) and they will check this:

lines pressure, solenoids, with special sound machine something like that.
They told me that our cars has a amazing trannys, but we have to think about the miles on my car 143560 and maybe the disc on my tranny is almost die.
Im thinking to invest for a full rebuild tranny, and forget the miles on it, then i want a tranny cooler with valve body upgrade(they made this job), they modify all the bodyguards cars on my town.

i would rather buy a used tranny, i see them go for 800 or less
try to look on car-part.com and find one
but hte price sounds right, http://www.maximumtuning.net/ has it for 1800

First, try to find out what the problem is in the tranny, it might be something simple

yes 6 month...they tune up bmws, audis etc...maybe is less than 900 but i think is time to make everything new on my tranny, i dont wanna make another invest in that part again. What do you think guys? just replace the bad parts...or is better replace the used parts too?

the torque converter..is very bad cause theres a little parts on the filter...and the disc-converter is loosing preassure so my tranny works very hard to shift the gears.

yes, this is a friend shop so they give me the av. price for 1000 or less, but in other stores they will charge like 2000, 1900, 1500. My friend fix all car makes...so i guess its the best way.
I dont want to buy a rebuilt tranny for other people, its better i think rebuild my "tranny" no other.
