not sure bout the 95.....but i think they're all the same no? the max has oversized 6.5"s in the doors and the rear deck. as far as the alpines go, i haven't really heard the 6.5's in person, but i used to hear some good things about the subs. it all depends on your price range, there are so many great speakers out there but it's all budget related.

Infinity 6002i (6-1/2"). ~$170 for four.

I like the alpine type s (sps170a). I've heard the inifinity 6002i and the apline type s. Inifinty seems to have a little bitter more tweeter, while the alpines have a little bit more mid range. Either spkr is good. Go into a store and listen to them, then you decide

alpine subs = good
alpine interior speakers = not bad

Whatever speakers you get will sound better then the stock speakers but the real difference is heard when you add an external amp, i am assuming that you have a head unit but if not, a the amplifier in an aftermarket head unit will make any speakers sound better.

If i could give you any kind of recommendation it would be to look into MB Quart speakers. it will cost a little more then $200 for 4 but try replacing the fronts first and then later after you save up a little more you could get the rears. Definately consider a new amp though.

yeah the MB Quart are good speakers i have heard them with and without an external amp and they sound decent without the amp and amazing with the amp and this is in a honda prelude not some wall in a store so i would say although more expensive your better off with MBs then with Alpines which make decent subs but not great interior

And if you have unlimited money go profesional i would do that if i have money but right now i'm living with stock boss but i have heard some of them and they get so loud and stay so clear...so it also depends are you going to show off your system or are you just looking for some higher qualitly interior sound?

I got pioneers from best buy (TS-A168OR) 220 watt max, 4 way speakers (4 way is a little over kill, but im not complaining) they fit the max fine 6 1/2 with 6 3/4s mounting tabs (if the need arises) The bass rumbles for rap (theres a good list of songs just for shaking the car) and then the 4 way is incredible for anything high end, techno, etc. at best buy for all 4 with a 4 year warantee (on one set...so if any of them blow, just bring it back) for about 195. Install is easy, and they sound amazing.

For all maximas, 95-99, The speaker sizes are the following:

Front Door:
Size: 6 3/4"
Depth: 2 15/16"
Height: 1/2"
Rear Deck:
Size: 6 3/4'
Depth: 8"
Height: 1/2"
Receiver (Head Unit):
Maximum Depth: 7 1/2"

This was all taken from a crutchfield magazine. In the middle of the magazine, there is an Easy-Fit Guide. I don't know whether it's in all their mags or just the one that I have, but it's useful.
