95/96 Red/Clears Please Help!

Hey I got hold of some all clear taillights about a month ago. I took them to a painter to match up the paint and they came out pretty bad. The color is matched up kinda good, but its like a solid color, not like transparent red. I don't know what to do. I was just wondering if anyone has any ideas. I was thinking if its possible to strip the paint? Thanks

You may be able to remove the paint with some alcohol or acetone but use sparingly. Too much can warp the plastic lens. If that doesn't work then I suggest some 0-grit sandpaper and take your time.

go back to the guy that matched your paint, tell him you needed transparent and now your lights are illegal. maybe he'll help remove it for free or recomend what to use. goodluck
