Squeak Squeak goes the Max!

Well, my max went from squeaking when slowing down to squeaking when i start to at drive and when i turn the wheel (both at very low speeds).

I thought i was just in for new brakes. Now what is the deal?

i could be wrong tho, if you were to explain this problem alittle more clearly with more details i would know for sure or not.

When this happened squeaking at first when I applied the brakes and then when I drove slowly around corners it was the brake pads that needed to be changed.

I already got one of those from Circuit City. It didnt help any.

I know that i need to replace the brakes. However, now it squeaks when i first start to drive (say 50 feet) and when i turn the wheel at low speeds. I cant explain it any better than to say it is a high pitched squeak, fairly annoying, an sounds to me like in addition to the brakes, i may need to have something else done.

That is EXACTLY the same things that were happening when my brakes and only my brakes needed to be replaced. Just replace the brakes and hopefully that will take care of everything.

Thanks MoJo....I will try... Im just afraid that it might be some CV probs, and that has me worried. Hopefully i will get those brakes swapped out fairly soon. Until then squeak squeak.

Your problem sounds similar to mine. Even when rolling w/o using the brakes it'll squeak uncontrolably, right? I think your caliper is sticky or stuck. I looked thru my Hanes and i oiled that sucker up a bit a month or two ago. Been fine ever since.

Just a thought, but I recently had a strange squeaking sound when coming to a quick stop, or on rough terrain.
Turned out that one of my muffler clamps was "dead", so what I was hearing was the broken one scraping against other metal under my car.
Got a new ones in there, no "squeaks" =)

you need to replace the brake pads, the squeal tabs are touching the rotors.

I had the same annoying sound. Changed my brakepads and rotors since they were warped, and everything went away
