Trust me, get a jwt pop charger or a stillen intake, you don't need any extra low end power with a 5-speed and all of the fastest N/A stick shift maximas have made their best runs w/a cone filter intake. Plus you don't have to drill a hole in your engine bay.

i agree with the above statement if you only into racing.. but for more practical everyday driving, id do the hacked air box or a frankencar hybrid. i have a 5 speed and got anoyed when i had a popcharger and lost my low/mid range intial acceleration when tapping the gas a lil bit

btw- very clean i30 u have a-ron.

I recommend the injen. Installed over a year now, no regrets on paying 200+ dollars. Don't drive through any really deep puddles or deep water though.

I live in rainy oregon, no problems.

Do you have any Dyno proof that indicates the Hacked air box is better?
I keep hearing about this hacked box but no dyno just people saying it feels better. I really want to see some number so I can put my injen for sale and make holes all over my air box.
2 months driving with my Injen Intake and I love it. My car is a 5spd and I love the way it feels now on the low end. I can actually chirp my tires again with my heavy 18s. I had a Midpipe before and I hated the thing. It was loud I felt no gains and didn't look as good as the injen does. But who knows If I see some dynos of the hacked box maybe I'll just switch my intake.

Will the hacked stock intake be much louder. This was one of the reasons that I took off my JWT intake. I am happy with my stock intake and K&N OEM type filter, but if I can get a little more oomph with no additional noise I will hack mine, if not I am staying stock.

The debate continues ! Their is nothing wrong with a JWT Popcharger, or adding a midpipe to it. But if you were to ask me which one you should get .. Id say INJEN !

I believe the Injen is the better setup as for as power. I dont have any experience with the Place Racing CAI or Cattman CAI.

I swapped out the FC Midpipe for the Injen and my 60's got lower and my traps got higher !

There is no cutting involved with the install !

And at present time its the best looking intake !

My Results:
Top 5: Frankencar Midpipe Times
Tuscola Motorsports (09.20.03)

1. 14.63 @ 94.28 - 60' 2.22
2. 14.71 @ 94.38 - 60' 2.27
3. 14.78 @ 93.89 - 60' 2.33
4. 14.86 @ 94.56 - 60' 2.47
5. 14.89 @ 93.57 - 60' 2.36

Top 5: Injen Intake Runs
Hub City Dragway (09.28.03)

1. 14.50 @ 96.54 - 60' 2.16
2. 14.69 @ 95.81 - 60' 2.23
3. 14.73 @ 95.59 - 60' 2.28
4. 14.80 @ 95.30 - 60' 2.33
5. 14.88 @ 94.89 - 60' 2.17 (missed shift 2-3)

bottom line its up to you ..both are real good !

I don't like the Injen type of "cold" air intake because it's sits behind the radiator. But regardless of how hot the air is down there, I think there's more air for the engine to use there than behind the battery for instance where it's blocked off unless you relocate the battery...

In my case the PR CAI doesn't do much because I have the stock foglights so all the holes are cover and even if the air is colder is harder for the intake to suck it up. The Injen does not sit right behind the radiator fan it sit right on the side and it has a much better air flow there. That delivers much more air to the intake and makes it easier to breath. If I didn't had the factory foglight I probably had chosen the PRCAI style since that big hole helps deliver more air
