I melted the wiring harness in my 98 Maxima, will I have to take it back to Nissan to let them put new ones on, or can I do it my self? Help is greatly needed. Thanks

Go to an autoparts store and do it yourself. Nissan charges around a $100 for part and labor, and its really only a 15min job.

Also, once you do it yourself...upgrade your wiring harness to some sort of heavy duty one, or your just going to keep melting them over and over and over....

I'm gonna venture a guess and say you are running a high wattage bulb....it's time for an upgraded harness my friend...if you have Nissan put another one on, it will just melt again...

Definitely do it yourself. If it is the harness/headlight socket you melted, then the part at the parts store is costs around 5 bucks and as someone said - 15 min of work. Three wires and that's it. Good luck.
