no way my stock max is gonna get into the 15's
oh well. i give up. there's no way my stock 95 auto max is gonna get into the 15's at LACR. after about 30 runs, my best time is 16.659 @ 82.527. either it's the elevation, non existant grip at the line, or just my heavy butt. oh well, check is in the mail for a y-pipe, looking into better tires, and i'm searching for a nos kit. man, it sucks being one of the slowest cars at the track.
I find that very hard to believe your car is that slow. I ran a 15.1 with just a cone filter (well my car is a stick) and its a 97.. with a 130 lb 2 15" woofer box in the trunk. My mom's 98 automatic camry v6 ran a 15.4 at the track and that things is completely stock, and from the only other maxima i saw up at the track, he ran a 15.9, but it was his first time out on the track.
let me tell you the details:
70k miles.
full 60k performed.
car runs flawless.
brand new air filter with poor man cai.
no brake torque.....very little traction with factory tires on 16" rims.
manual shifting and auto shifting times were bout the same.
track temp: not sure but it was *** biting cold
elevation: ~2600 feet
the only thing that i can think of that's really slowing me down are the factory tires. grip off the line is a joke and brake torque is not even an option. even easing into the pedal produces wheel spin. ran another bone stock max and we both ran the same times that night. he was running cheesy tires also.
go figure. maybe when i pick up some tires from tire rack my times will go down. oh well, guess i'll have to wait till next friday.

Elevation is a huge factor my man. Don't get down on yourself. When I lived in Colorado Springs, which happens to be at a higher elevation than the mile high city itself(Denver), my stock max was runnin 16's also.
What are your 60ft times?
Man I feel sorry for ya also your trapspeed seems way to low. Actually with a 81-82mph trapspeed and 2.3 60ft's you should run low 16's. Hell my auto 87 max ran 16.3 at 82 here in houston (which is at sea level
).

Thats a good time
Add a torque convertor, 205/50-15's BFG drag radials next thing you know your running low 15's. Add a Y pipe and ECU then your running 14's. Once I get my se-r repaired we should run each other.
