knock sensor

Yup... decided to check my knock sensor today, the easy way. So i hear you can un-plug the guy, and if your car drives the same, then u got a bad KS. Turns out mine is bad. But when i pulled it, i never got a CEL. So does that mean KS dont trigger a CEL?

generally a bad knock sensor alone will not trigger a cel light

i have a knock sensor tested in perfect working order with only 12k mi. on it. For sale but have not bothered to post in on ebay or the clasified forum here. I'd MUCH rather sell to another org member. 60 bucks +shipping takes it.

Did you check the ECU for stored codes. infinitiman96 is right, if the sensor alone is bad it will not trigger a CEL, but if the KS is bad the ECU will throw you an 0304 code if you run a diagnostic on it. That is what I had. I reset it several times and it kept coming back so I bought a new one the Max has been happy since
.

Do a search on checking ecu for codes, some threads with links should come up.
