Legality of DIY Mods

I live in MASSACHUSETTS and I was wondering what is the legality of making your own piping for a cone intake or even buying one off of ebay? Will it not pass inspection if you do so? Also I want to paint my altezza's but I want it to be legal....how can I do this? Thanks.

You should have no problem with either of those mods.....

Only thing i could say about the Altezza mod is that if you are doing the Skyline mod, make sure that the circles you leave unpainted are the same size as the altezza circles. If not then i see a potential problem. As far as the hybrid intake Mods, no. This is only allowing more air to flow in. I prefer this Hybrid MOD. It works great on my friend's car, and i cant wait to do so.

Just keep the stock plumbing and through it back in when inspection time rolls around.
