Excited about my new muffler

OK guys I've placed my order for my new 60 Series Flowmaster Muffler. Some small 3 Star Muffler shop is going to order it for me ship to their place and install it for $130 ! I'm excited...It took me a while to decide but the flowmaster web-site had some nice sound bites with that muffler. Nothing too loud (I don't wanna make some loud a$$ entrance) while still retaining a decent tone. Whatcha y'all think???

I think this thread was a waste. Make another one when you actually get it installed...

Not shure if any opinion will matter anyways since he already ordered the muffler.

Wow.....shot down in a blaze of glory. Good to see that what one considers a "useless" thread actually took the time to respond.

Not so useless now huh? (rhetorical question....do not answer)

May be you want to do it yourself, it's not so bad. And yes it's very time consuming.

The FlowMaster web-site had some sound bites of an Acura 1.8, drive by, inside sound and simple revving....I'm excited I can't wait to get the Magnaflow cat and the muffler on.....now I can finally pass inspection and my car should carry a decent sound...

i'v had both 40 series and 60 series on my max. didn't like either. thesoundsoldier has them on his car if you want his opinion also. i think my magnaflow is much much better then the 60 series. also i'd like to say i liked the sound of the 60 more then the 40...

oh and your highflowcat is kinda unless and you should probably cancle that order and buy a Y pipe. untill you get a Y, that is if you are going to eventually, your exhaust's sound, which is primarily determined by your muffler, will change dramatically.
- hi flo cat
+ budget y
the price your paying is decent the muffler retail is only like 70 bucks in magazines...they are doing a B pipe to right for that price?

What did you not like about the 60 series? I'm thinking about a 60 series Flowmaster for my car, too.

The 2000+ Maxima mufflers are the only way to go, IMO. You get a throatier and slightly louder sound, but you don't have the nasty raspiness and loudness. All aftermarket mufflers sound different, but they all end up sounding like crap on the VQ with a y-pipe. Either the muffler have an overbearing raspiness, resonance, farty sound, overly loud, etc. Many people end up adding an additional resonator to make the muffler quieter which is something I don't understand. The extra resonator will end up sucking out a little more power and pretty much what you end up with is the look of an aftermarket muffler and less power than the stock muffler.

lou's custom exhaust of north reading. 2.5 inch custom made b and a 40 series i bought there 130 or 140 is what i paid.

i thought the 60 sounded more sportier more like a race car or something. the 40 is for a larger displcement motor then what we've got..thats why they are always on cameros and mustangs it seems. the 40 was good but i'd go with the 60...good luck let us know how it goes and get us some sound clips.

Any exhaust that you will get will sound deeper since youre mating it to a v6 rather than a v4. I doubt you'll be getting the bees in the can sound from your car so its all good

Well the installation will be done next Saturday (Oct. 25). My mechanic said the first bonehead thing today when I called....I mention I wanted to b-pipe to be 2.5" or 2.75". He talked about how the engine needed back pressure....But he did say it was my choice.....Oh well he's entitled to his (wrong) opinion......

Thinking about adding a resonator to the install to quiet it down. TheSoundSoldier told me it's gonna get loud....the Muffler shop should have some...........................right?
