MEVI Switch over?

I was just wondering if you can hear the switch over? Is it like a honda's vtec sound,? or do you just feel the difference? I was just wondering, Sorry for the Newbie question.

i dont have the MEVI and i dont know too much about it. but i know that that power band is much smoother so that there is no kick throughout all RPM ranges. if you search you could find a dyno and it will show you.

Yeah, i was just curious, because right now i still have my honda, but i really want to get rid of it for a maxima, preferably, the 4th gen. Yeah, i was just interested on how the MEVI works. I think that the acura integra gsr has the same technology in it's intake manifold too, but the butterflies open when the VTEC kicks in. I don't want a honda anymore, but it would still be cool to have a "VTEC" affect. THanks for the info.

The H22A and B18C1 (Prelude vtec and GSR) motor both have variable intake manifolds similar to the MEVI however their's are true dual runners which is a little better than the design of the MEVI.

No it will not sound anything like VTEC. Some people say they can hear theirs switch over, I however can not.

I can't hear the switch over, but by 6500rpms I can hear if it's open or not. It makes a loud air "rushing" sound.

yeah, don't expect it to sound like v-tec.

v-tec paired with good intake/exhaust on my friend's RSX is just ****ing sexy, I don't care how much I hate hondas. sounds amazing.

too bad it's not as fast as it sounds.

I can't hear mine switch over either. I have a LED that lights up when the RPM switch goes off. You can tell if the VI is open or not by looking at how fast the tach climbs in higher gears..
