brake light
would anybody have any explanation as for why the brake light on my dashboard stays on, even though my e-brake is completly down???
and if I somehow violently shook the car by for example braking really hard, it would make the light turn off for a very short while, yet always come back on

Yup, my wife's '96 did this before we traded it in. The fluid was right between the LOW and the MAX lines. I filled it to the MAX line and the light went out. It's wierd cause my '96 is right between the lines and the light doesn't come on.

check wiring
bypass the float switch, and see if you can toggle the light that way. if no difference can be made that way...
check the sensor at the parking brake, sometimes that switch can be problematic... bypass it and see if the dash light shuts off...
the problem is EXTREAMLY likely to be in one of these two places, both easy to access
good luck

mine has done this quite a few times... it has usually been low brake fluid. I've had it come on with low pads and heavy braking. I'll brake softly and no light, but i'll brake heavy and it'll come on... changed the pads... problem went away... of course, i also have a suspision that I have a very small leak somewhere. ordering SS lines soon.
