Just bought a high-mileage 95 SE. I am considering replacing the struts and shox. The car will be a 'daily driver' and will not require ultra-high-performance units. Any recomendations on replacement units and a source? Also, at 110k miles, should I be considering replacement of top strut mount bearings?

Thanks.

I have replaced my rear shocks with the KYB GR-2s. They are good choices for a daily driver. I got them $250 installed at a local repair shop.

If the price is right it would be a good preventive maintenance practice on your part since you will allready be there. If keeping the car for a long time and high performance is not needed, consider lifetime warranty shocks/struts.

If the car now has the stock struts, isolators, bearings and boots, I would suggest changing it all out if you are planning on keeping the car for a while. I just replaced my struts at 60K on my 95 and found I had bad isolators and boots. KYB's are a good stock replacement as are Tokico's. I bought my KYB's from Summitt Racing; if I recall correctily, the rears were 60 each and the fronts 80 each. You may be able to do better I didn't shop around too much. Good luck!
