Cone air filter

Can anyone help me find a support/attachment for my cone filter. I have a 98 maxima and I bought a K&N cone filter awhile back. I didn't know that there was suppose to be an attachment which supports the filter at the base so that the filter is not just laying on the car frame. I noticed on other maxima owners' cars, that the filter is supported by a copper sheet which attaches at the base of the cone and to the car frame. I've tried Stillen.com but they told me that they don't sell the attachment separately. Can anyone help? Thanks!!!!

Look on EBAY for a connector or go directly to the K&N website. I do not know what you are talking about copper sheet thought. When i put my K&N cone on, i just used 1x1 inch metal block to prop it up a bit off the body.

I used a long piece of metal (strapping/bracket) from a K40 radar detector kit. You can also use the metal strap that comes with a new car stereo. Look at the pic, there is a black metal strap secured to the car, the other end gets wedged between the filter clamp and rubber outlet of the filter.

I think I still have my stillen one that I took off when I put on my frankencar midpipe. I took that bracket off b/c my filter wouldn't fit right. I can check my garage to see if I still have that piece for you.
