Car wont stay running, runs out of juice, and dies.

Hi there, I was hopeing someone can help me out here,
I have a 1995 maxima in good condition. I parked it for one month and when i went to start it again, the battery was dead. I got a boost from a neighbor and i let it idle for 30 minutes or so to charge the battery. After a while, i opened the drunk and water dripped out of the light, and the car lights dimmed dramatically and the car went dead. The battery seemed to be completely dead! I checked it with a voltage thing, and recharged the battery completely, and it still doesnt start. When i get another boost it will run fine until i unplug the booster cables, then it runs dead again. I ahve been told its a short somewhere, or the alternator (which was replaced 1 year ago). PLEASE HELP! i dont know what to do!

Take it for a long drive?

Take it to an auto store (like AutoZone) to test out the battery and the alternator for free

a lot of people have had alternator problems, do a search like Jatan said, and you will come up with plenty... the solution you need might be there

lol... search on the internet, specifically right here on THIS forum. up at the top (or in my sig) there is a search, look for alternator, or battery problems, specifically under the 4th generation forum. you should find plenty

If its the original battery, I'd say you're battery is dead and you need to pick up a new one...

its a 95... so he would of had to replace it by now (unless he recharges the thing constantly)

just take it for a nice long drive and if it doesn't work by then you're gonna need to have some surgery
