sooo i got my Apex WS catback last Friday, and finally installed it on Sunday. the installation was a breeze except, my friends and i put the Apipe (resonator) upside down, and threw off the rest of the exhaust( it made the exhaust tip hit the left side of my bumper)
. so we had to go back underneath the car again and turn it. well n e ways, we take a test drive and the exhaust is surprisingly quiet. i know its suppose to be the quietest of all the brands available for our maxima's, but damn this is almost stock. and there is a burning smell coming from the exhaust during the test drive, but then it gradually went away...so i'm assuming thats the exhaust breaking in. i went WOT and i still couldn't make out the exhuast, all i could hear was the intake. beside the exhaust not being loud, the gain is awesome, i can defenitly feel it, and from inside the car i can hear the exhaust in the low RPMs. overall i like the exhaust alot...just hoping it was alittle more louder.
is the exhaust suppose to get louder over time? cuz it sounded like it almost got louder the longer i drove it.

the smell is just the all the grease and excess crap being burnt up, it happens with all exhaust components. yes the apexi one of the quietest of catback, although i head that obx may be not be as loud as apexi. you will hear it more at lower rpms, but with almost all exhausts, even the greddy (one of loudest, but best sounding IMO) is going to get drowned out by the intake after 4k rpm. if you want it louder you could just pull the resonater, but then it wont sound as good and will most likely be redicusously loudOriginally Posted by SkyMaxGTR

glad you like it
Apexi Ws kicks @ss...i love mine too!!! My apexi ws seemed loud when i first put it on. I haven't had any other exhaust on my car before so i didn't have anything to compare to.
The apexi Ws did seem to get a little louder when I put on the y-pipe. When you get rid of the pre-cats the sound seem to change or get louder, either way it's sweet sounding!!!!!!

The a-pipe, or whatever you call it doesn't have a resonator. The pipe connected straight to the muffler is what you're talking about right? The resonator is on the b-pipe and you couldn't have it upside down because it wouldn't even be possible. The WS is stock quiet because the muffler is so damn big, the piping is also only 2 1/8th to 2 3/8ths thick...Originally Posted by SkyMaxGTR

where and for how much did you get your Apexi WS? im in the market for one ...
i got mine from Apex Motorsports ( http://www.apexr1.com/apexr1/ ) it was the cheapest place i've found, besides getting a group deal on one. it was 385.00 without shipping...and shipping wasn't that bad either. i lived in Texas, and the warehouse is in Arizona, so i got my exhuast within a week.
